Mitch and I met in 2013 and following a 4 year romance we took a trip to Chester Zoo where he proposed. This is our story.

We first met back in 2013, through a mutual friend and we knew that one day we would get married.

In 2017 Mitch proposed on a day trip to Chester Zoo. I had always joked that I wanted to get married on the 6th July as that is both my Nan and Grandads and my Mom and Dads wedding anniversary, so why break the family tradition. 2019 meant that the 6th of July fell on a Saturday so the date was set and the plans were put in motion.

The wedding was just over 18 months in the planning, we set to work and were surprised that almost everything was booked and sorted within 6 months, this left us with plenty of time for the finer details.

I chose my dress from Dream Days in Dudley. It was a Sincerity gown style 3771 which came with a little over jacket. I had an idea that I wanted straps instead of the jacket so Tracey expertly crafted it into a strap and keyhole back feature which was attached to my dress and made it unique to me.

Everything was altered to perfection and nothing was too much trouble.

Dream Days also supplied my 5 bridesmaid dress, style BM971 from Hilary Morgan, I chose a beautiful teal colour which set the colour scheme for the whole of the wedding, again with a few modifications to the dresses they were exactly what I wanted. Not stopping there my Mom also had her outfit which was a Mascara 2 piece suit with matching hat. Everything was altered to perfection and nothing was too much trouble.

The men's suits were hired from Roger Scott Menswear, Dudley who were amazing, the suits and the service were of the highest quality and second to none.

Our pictures were taken by With this Ring Photography and we were delighted when our chosen shots had arrived in our wedding album which was stunning, capturing all our favourite images forever.

We chose to get married at Central Methodist Church Dudley and our reception at Moor Hall Hotel and Spa who could not have done anymore for us to make our day so perfect. All finished off with flowers by Jo at Floral Secrets.

The day itself goes so quickly and my advice to any couple would be to simply enjoy every moment, it's not just the day, it's all of it, the preparation, the organisation, the celebration of two families coming together. Take a few moments on the day to stop and just look around you and take it all in. Your family and favourite people all together at the same time in honour of your wedding day.

The day was perfect and it's difficult to mention one thing that stood out, but for me the lasting memory would be me looking around when people asked me where Mitch was and me thinking, where is my husband, this was the most fantastic feeling and a private memory that will stay with me forever.

I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in our special day. It meant the world to us ❤
