When should I start? Here’s Dream Days' 4-step guide to buying a wedding dress with a recommended timeline

If you’re planning your wedding, here’s Dream Days' 4-step guide to buying a wedding dress with a recommended timeline. Send this to someone you know who is wedding planning!

Step 1: Find your dress!

You want to start booking an appointment to find your dress at least 10 - 12 months before your wedding if you're considering ordering new. Shops often have dresses you can take off the peg immediately, but give yourself as much time as possible, and start looking as early as you like!

Step 2: Dress arrives!

Approximately 8 months after you order your dress, it will arrive in store for you to try on! If you have a while until your wedding but find a dress you love, we will wait to order the gown a little bit closer to the wedding date to measure you to the most accurate size before ordering, ensuring it will still be delivered in time for the wedding!

Step 3: Fittings!

These appointments start 8-10 weeks before your wedding to fit the dress perfectly to you, making any alterations you require to help you look and feel fabulous! We then invite you in to try the gown on once alterations have been completed to check everything is perfect!

Step 4: Collect!

We store your dress for as long as you need at Dream Days and steam the gown before you collect to make sure it is wedding day ready! You can also find a few personal touches when you come to collect with us at Dream Days. Pick up the day before or so and go and get married!
