Jen and Will have their weekend wedding of dreams

Jen has been a part of our Dream Days family since April this year and we have loved every step of the wedding dress journey with her. It's fair to say she went with something completely alternative to the 'original plan' - BUT WOW - did everything turn out perfectly! When Jen came back in to have her beautiful dress cleaned, she was kind enough to share some photos and stories of her special day with us, here's what she had to say...

'Will and I met and started dating while studying chemistry at the University of Hull over 10 years ago. 6 years later he spent a week learning how to ski so that he could pop the question at 2600m.'

'The most recent chapter of our love story saw us get married last month at the Thomas Robinson Building in Stourbridge, followed by a party at our house with our nearest family and friends, and a reception the following day with all of our loved ones at The Dodford Inn, Bromsgrove.'

'Everyone tells you when you get married that it is one of the most stressful things you will do in your life but we seemed to have an easy time of it. Despite arranging everything in 5 months, the planning progress went fairly smoothly, and we enjoyed getting stuck into all of the arrangements and preparations.'

'A huge highlight of the planning process was dress shopping and the fabulous girls at Dream Days. With my bridesmaid and family living nearly 300 miles away, I attended most of my bridal appointments on my own but the girls made me feel so incredible every step of the way.'

'They were always there to hype me up and make me feel amazing. I cannot thank them enough!'

'What I wished we’d realised earlier was that all of the stress would come in one massive pile on the morning of our ceremony. Somehow the morning flew by, everything over ran and before we knew it I only had an hour to do my hair, get dressed and get to the venue which was 20 minutes away!'

'I was also making my own bouquet and the flowers were currently laid out on the kitchen table, ready to be arranged! I finished my hair and quickly threw together something that resembled a bridal arrangement, before putting on my dress and shoes and jumping in the car. Then came the traffic! The only way to describe it would be ‘uncharacteristically manic’.'

'We finally made it to the registry office with a literal minute to spare. Will was blissfully unaware of how close he came to not having a bride meeting him at the end of the aisle, thankfully. I’m happy to report that things went much smoother from this point on and everything fell into place. There was even a break in the rain for us to get our beautiful photos outside.'

'The next day we had the most amazing celebration at The Dodford Inn. This venue has recently expanded into the wedding market but they really went above and beyond to make our day special.'

'Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are incredibly beautiful and the food is to die for! My wonderful Mum made our wedding cake; two peacocks to symbolise our everlasting love!'

'My 12 year old brother also surprised us with a wonderfully heart-warming and funny speech, which was a definite highlight for everyone!'

'We are so glad that we spread our ceremony and reception across the weekend. We were able to spend quality time with our closest family and friends and still have the party of our dreams!'

'If I had to give some advice to couples approaching their big day, I'd say, plan extra time for everything and savour every moment, it really does go by in the blink of an eye!'

Jen - thank you so much for sharing this special occasion with us at Dream Days. We are so so happy you got your dream weekend wedding - congratulations again!
